TS Time Off Request Enhancements

Right now we have our TOR process set up where we have our nurses submit
their TOR through TS and we go in and approve or deny, then the approved ones appear on their schedule with the color red so that we are aware at a glance who has time off and who is available to work.

This is ultimately what we would like to do and I am hoping you can give me any information on a good way to go about that.

We would like to have our nurses enter their TOR and then we approve or
deny.
When we approve we would like:

- The ability to approve part of a consecutive TOR WITHOUT losing the
ability to approve the whole TOR in one swoop (not having to approve each
individual day in a single TOR)
- It would be amazing if we could have a way to tentatively approve TOR
with a final approval later.
- If we could choose from 2 colors when approving TOR (not just have the
single color already assigned to it)
- We would like to be able to schedule over TOR.
- We would like the ability to make notes in a nurses TOR.
- We would also like to be able to see the reason why (in the
appointment) the nurse is requesting off. (when seeing the reason we can
figure out if we can ask our nurses for a day, evening, or night shift
depending on what their reason is.)

Here is our reason why: When we are building schedules for the next 2
months, we have to look at all possible angles for building schedules. Our
nurses are in multiple workgroups (patients homes) and so we aren't
necessarily able to approve TOR right away until we build all of the
patients schedules to see if we have enough people to staff our homes. At
the moment we have to approve all TOR, build the schedule and then go in
and delete whatever TOR does not work and manually enter a TOR appointment
in for the nurse so we can chart why we removed/Denied" part or all of
their TOR. Ideally we like to approve as much time off for our nurses as
possible, but we can't approve it for everyone. Someone has to take care of
our medically complex kiddos. Additionally, we have to make notes on
everything we do. If you ever look at appointments in our workgroups you
will see that just about all of them have some sort of note. Also, since
time simplicity appointments for overnight shifts don't technically show on
the next day (example 4/15 night would only show on 4/15 and not also on
4/16) it can be a bit challenging when the TOR automatically lifts a
schedule because the nurse selected the all day option (which starts at
Midnight by default) and is scheduled the night before it. Often our nurses
are willing to pick up shifts or work shifts right before their TOR and it
creates a lot of extra work for us when we have to go in and remove their
TOR and then manually enter a new one. We need to have all that data
stored, so we can't just remove the TOR itself without replacing and
charting why.

When we deny we would like:

- for it to still show up on the nurse's schedule with the title Denied.
- It would be nice if it showed up as a different color than the
approved ones.
- We would like to be able to make a note in the appointment so we can
state why we denied it.
- We would like to be able to schedule over it.

Of course, as all things go, we would like to be able to have as much of
the above as possible without losing the ability for our nurses to submit
their TOR through TS. Is there anything we may not be currently utilizing
in TS that would help with this? Otherwise, is this something that can be
worked on for future updates?
