Almost every client we have using Time Off Requests have asked if it is possible to Black Out dates on the calendar so that the system will not allow employees to request those dates at all. This would be most helpful for them because they have certain times that no employees are allowed to take time off and this would save steps for everyone if a request could not even be submitted for dates that have been blocked.
Wonderful idea and something we are asked for quite a bit.

This is a must...
There should also be rules to black out dates that other fellow employees in the departments were already approved for.
I know this was one of the items that was voted on regarding the top 10 changes requests for TWP and don't believe it made the cut but am still hoping it is on the radar. We have started implementing TOR for our clients to use (previously they used the TOA component in Evolution) and it is working out really well for them.
1) The feature they miss most is the admin's ability to create a TOR request on behalf of the employee and approve or deny it so it shows on the TOR calendar.
2) The feature they did not have with TOA and were most hoping TOR would afford them is the ability to add blackout dates to prohibit time-off requests, particularly on days the company is closed.
If there was a processing rule section called "Time Off Requests" and in that section have a rule called "BlackoutDates" it would be great it you could define dates that no TOR could be approved for. This way, if an employee made a request that encompassed a blackout date, they could receive a message that "<MM/DD/YY> is a blackout date and cannot be included in a TOR request. Please revise your request dates."
