The system is supposed to allow time off requests to optional managers. Currently this is not working, at least for client level logins, and has been slated to be discontinued in a future ESS release. This functionality is very important to at least one of my larger accounts since they manage a larger medical practice with multiple locations in which employees work in more then one location. The employee must submit time off requests to the location that her/his absence will affect. The optional manager choice has been a good way to solve this issue.
