TOR - Client/Supervisor should receive e-mail if employee withdraws a request

The purpose of this idea is to (1) have an e-mail sent to management if an employee withdraws an approved TOR request and (2) implement the ability for withdrawal requests to have to be approved by management before being canceled out of the system.

  1. When an employee submits a TOR, an e-mail is sent to management to let them know so they can go ahead and approve or reject the request.  When an employee withdraws a previously approved request, no e-mail is sent to management.  Management should always be informed of staffing and availability changes, so they should receive an e-mail when an employee withdraws a PTO request.

  2. In some companies, once you are approved for PTO, you can't necessarily change your request because of other concessions that were made around it, such as replacement staff or altered schedules to accommodate your absence, etc.  Letting all employees freely withdraw requests is not the SOP at some companies.  The employee needs to go to their manager.  To complement that process, there should be an option to require management to approve a withdrawal request before the employee can be taken off the TOR calendar and reclaim the PTO time in their bank.  This is similar to implementing a conditional approval process if the employee withdraws a TOR request.

An outline for this suggestion is attached.  It seems imperative that withdrawal notifications go out and would ideally have to be (or have an option to be) approved by management.  Thank you for any and all consideration!

We will be releasing an update to TWP which will notify a supervisor if an employee withdraws a request. It does not allow the supervisor to approve or deny the request at this time. This is something we might consider in the future.
