Hello Team
I would like to request a new change and options for the “Clock Prompt Configuration Prompt” setup wizard. What I want may very well not be easy, but I believe it would make this system much more functional for the client’s and their employees.
What I would like is a field added called “Employee Workgroup”, that would, if selected, reference the “Employee Workgroups” under the Maintenance Menu.
On the clocks, this would bring up a Prompt List, dedicated to that specific “Employee Workgroup”. An employee will only see the options within that “Employee Workgroup's” specific "Prompt list".
Also, by selecting to add an “Employee Workgroup”, this would automatically add a new a new blank “Employee Workgroup” field. Thereby allowing for multiple “Employee Workgroups”, with their own dedicated “Prompt List”. If a new/additional “Employee Workgroup” is also selected for this field, you would basically start the process all over again for this new “Employee Workgroup”/ "Prompt List" combo.
The way I see it working is like this: Employee clocks in, the system matches their EE ID to the appropriate workgroup. That workgroup would be tied to a specific Prompt List on the “Clock Prompt” (a single “Clock prompt” could have multiple “Employee Workgroups”, with their own dedicated “Prompt Lists”). Whatever options are found within that Prompt list, are the options that the employees would see, and have available to them to select from.
UPDATE! - Based off of a comment by Michael Beauchemin (Thanks Mike!) this ability to still make certain things required (like Tips), as part of this per "Employee WorkgroupGroup" setup, would also be nice. Here is his comment:
"I agree. Having clock prompts, that only specific work groups see, makes perfect sense. For example no need for kitchen staff to see prompts for tip. Additionally if you want to make it mandatory that data be entered, you cannot do that currently without a targeted workgroup.

This would greatly enhance the functionality for the employees, who would no longer need to scroll through long lists of codes, or options, that do not apply to them, thereby speeding up the process, and lowering errors, since there will be far fewer opportunities for selecting the wrong option.
This would also enhance the functionality for the Client, since they can limit what the employees sees, and as listed before, speeding up the process, and lowering errors, since there will be far fewer opportunities for selecting the wrong option.
This would also allow us to tailor the clock prompts to the client’s needs in a much better way. I have ran into this issue a few times, with clients asking if there was a way to limit the amount of info that the employees have to wade through when clocking in, and I think this would fill that need.
Thank you.

P.S. On a separate note, I would also like the ability to be able to utilize/reference the “Employee Workgroup(s)” in scripting. This could make life a lot easier, if I can reference these workgroups, instead of specific fields on the “Employee Setup” screen, as not all client’s utilize these fields, but a workgroup would be a great quick and easy way to apply scripts to all employees within a specific workgroup.

Hello Michael Beauchemin, thank you for your comment and up-vote on my Product idea. I also have another out there that would/ or could also affect the "Clock Prompt setup". It is the "ESS Tab/Employee Time Card Editing: Being able to limit what an employee can View or Edit on the time card, as opposed to what the Accountant, Client or Supervisor Levels can View or Edit." I'd really like to know what you think about this one, when you get a chance. Thank you!
