When the "Allow employees to request unpaid time off" setting is enabled, the system creates an "Unpaid" punch category and displays it on the employee's timecard as expected. However, the current timecard summary combines unpaid hours and wages into the gross total, which creates confusion from a payroll standpoint — as it implies the employee is being compensated for unpaid time.
We'd like to suggest that unpaid hours and wages be broken out as a separate line item in the timecard summary rather than rolled into the gross total. This would give a clear distinction between what is actually being paid versus what is designated as "unpaid", reducing confusion for both employees and administrators reviewing the timecard and reports.
