TimeSimplicity & Other Product Ideas

Client & Supervisor Login & Permissions

I want Supervisor/Manager users to need only 1 login to request time off (as an Employee) and do their editing (as a Supervisor). In addition, we need the ability to grant more granular permissions to supervisors. See examples.

    Admin response

We are excited to announce that supervisors and clients admins are now able to have one login for both their manager/client and employee information.

Client admins or partners are able to link existing manager/client accounts with specific employee accounts and manager/clients are able to link their accounts themselves if the unified login feature is enabled at the site level.

Here are video instructions on how to set this up: https://vimeo.com/343327405

Here is an article to set this up as well: https://helptwp.payrollservers.us/customer/portal/articles/2977336-how-to-access-your-employee-portal-through-the-manager-app

If you have any questions or feedback. Please reach out to productmanagement@swipeclock.com or your CDM.

    Best,

Not sure its been mentioned yet, but the ability for supervisors to run the different reports they currently cannot.  For example, the Labor by Department report supervisors cannot run.  Maybe an option to filter out what reports a supervisor can run?  Either way right now they cannot access a "payroll type" report, yet a Labor by department is pretty important for supervisors running departments....  wouldnt you think?

I know I previously commented on this back in March from a client perspective.  I wanted to offer an additional comment from a Service Bureau perspective.  A lot of our client base has outsourced their processing and payroll functions to us entirely and it's only TWP that they use as a point of online entry.

With this model, and noting that the payroll system is the system of record, we enter all of the new-hire or maintenance data and send the changes through to TWP via API.  This means the client or supervisor should not be manipulating or manually changing certain fields in the Employee Setup screen.  However, all client accounts have access to this inherently and there's no way to give a supervisor access to just the Employee Setup grid without the ability to actually enter the Employee Setup screen by clicking on the employee name.

I think there's benefit to be derived from redesigning the permissions to be more granular as stated in the original case and comments, or perhaps employing a Processing Rule called EmployeeSetup and being able to toggle which fields a client or supervisor can view only and which they can edit.  This way the data stays in sync.

For Supervisors, it would be great if the Employee Setup permissioning was broken out into four components:

    1. Employee Setup Grid - On/Off - Gives Supervisors the ability to see the Employee Setup grid and customize the columns to see the data they're looking for.

    2. Employee Setup Identity - Read Only / Edit / No Access - Gives Supervisors the ability to read or edit the data on the Employee Setup screen in the Identity section.  Granting them No Access to Employee Setup Identity would mean all permissions that follow (3 and 4) are automatically set to No Access.

    3. Employee Setup Identifiers - Read Only / Edit / No Access - Gives Supervisors the ability to read or edit the data on the Employee Setup screen in the Identifiers For Punching the Clock section.  If they are granted No Access, this section does not appear on the screen.

    4. Employee Setup Data - Read Only / Edit / No Access - Gives Supervisors the ability to read or edit the data on the Employee Setup screen in the Employee Data section.  If they are granted No Access, this section does not appear on the screen.

This would better suffice a lot of the needs our customers have relayed to us.  Thank you!

I am voting to promote a simple toggle for supervisors to switch between employee and supervisor roles.

#12 above would be very useful. I have a client I am implemented now that needs to have supervisors review and approve time cards by department worked for that day or pay period.  They are a hotel chain and do not have employees work in consistent departments.

In regard to #2 above, we just had a request about this in the past few minutes from a big client of ours that needs supervisors to be able to create these requests for non-techsavvy employees.
