When Schedulers click on the Open Shift on Schedule All View, it allows them to assign the shift. If the employees could similarly click on Open Shifts from their Portal, but to more quickly/easily submit pick up requests, it would be a big improvement in their user experience.
Taking this one step further, I could see the Schedule All View being a superior starting point for Drop and Pick Up Requests in general. The employee can see all of the workgroup shifts on the schedule, and Shifts that are Open or on the Drop Board would be highlighted. Employee would have a more complete picture of their workgroups schedule and could better plan the shift changes they are requesting.
