The purpose of this idea is to standardize the way start and end times are displayed in TimeSimplicity for the benefit of the client and the employee.
Right now, when you schedule someone in TimeSimplicity, their hours are presented in the following format:
HMMA/P-HMMA/P
E.g. 600A-1200P is how a shift that starts at 6:00am and ends at 12:00pm would be displayed.
At the same time, if the employee requests time off using the TOR module and enters times for their request instead of the total hours, TimeSimplicity displays the TOR hours in the following, different format:
HH:MM AM/PM-HH:MM AM/PM
E.g. 12:00 PM-03:00 PM is how a TOR request that starts at 12:00pm and ends at 3:00pm would be displayed.
Attached is an example directly from TimeSimplicity that corroborates the disparity explained in the example above.
Ideally, the times would display in the same format:
1) HMMA/P-HMMA/P would offer two shifts: 600A-1200P and 1200P-300P
or
2) HH:MM AM/PM-HH:MM AM/PM would offer two shifts: 06:00 AM-12:00 PM and 12:00 PM-03:00 PM
For all intents and purposes, the way (or rather, the format in which) the times are displayed on the scheduler should be the same regardless if the employee has TOR hours or scheduled hours. Having two different presentations gives a disjointed presentation, and if one way of presenting the hours is deemed more favorable than the other by the client, it is difficult to explain why they can't have everything uniform. Thanks for your consideration!
