Many clients like the ability to report on Job Codes, and even the total hours and total labor cost of those codes. However, also being able to compare those items with a budgeted amount would be very helpful.
A solution may come in two forms. First, the ability to set up the Labor Code Report as a custom report with fields for budgeted "costs" for each labor code. Second, the custom report would need to be able to save those budgeted amounts, as well as other settings that aren't required to be re-picked each time the report is ran.
I am seeing the requests for job costing increasing drastically as profit margins get tighter. Employers need/want to drill down to see exactly where their overtime and excess labor is coming from compared to what they had budgeted for the day to better explain their expense variances and determine if labor cuts need to be made to shifts later in the week.
