TimeSimplicity & Other Product Ideas

New Report - Zero Hours Report

The purpose of this idea is to give clients additional insight into relevant business statistics, specifically hourly employees who may have worked zero hours the last pay period or for a specific # of pay periods in a row.

In many organizations, a policy exists where employees who have worked zero hours for X amount of weeks in a row (and who are not using PTO or whose absence isn't legally protected by Disability, FMLA, etc. are automatically terminated.

If TWP could provide such a report that would be beneficial to all involved.

To accomplish this, my thought process was along the lines of the following:

  1. Add a new field to the employee setup screen called "Track Zero Hours" and have the user be able to specify "Yes' or "No" through a corresponding drop-down menu.  Or, to avoid changing the GUI, perhaps this can be an employee option called #ZERO.

  2. Add a new report that relays any employees who had zero hours posted on their timecard (ignore ispayonly entries), how many weeks in a row they've had zero hours posted on their timecard, and the date that they last worked (which would be the the last day they had an istimes entry).

Giving the client the insight they need to control their labor costs and prevent paying towards benefits for employees who are no longer active will yield labor savings, position TWP as a product offering additional value, and also prevent employees who should get paid but maybe we supposed to have time manually entered from not receiving a check.
