This purpose of this idea is to highlight the need and importance of having consistent presentation of time values as H:MM:SS in all scenarios where seconds are present, specifically when the seconds of a time are :00.
After scripting some attendance alerts for a client so t hey could view schedule deviations without factoring in lunch breaks, I noticed that when the seconds of the time are :00 the timecard displays the time as H:MM. However, when the seconds of the time are anything other than :00, the timecard displays H:MM:SS. I have attached a screenshot to illustrate the disparity I am referencing.
I asked Support if there was a way to alter scripting so that, when calculated, 1 hour of time, for example, would show as 1:00:00 (i.e. H:MM:SS) instead of 1:00 (H:MM) in the interest of:
Elaborating slightly, If I am 1 hour early the system shows it as 1:00. if I am 1 hour and 1 second early the system shows it as 1:00:01. This makes the first time looks like 1 minute vs. 1 hour in comparison to the second time. If the first time was 1:00:00, though, and the second time was 1:00:01, then it would be much, much clearer, cleaner, and easier to decipher.
Given the reasons above and the confusing illustration attached, would you be willing to make a modest change to TWP so that :00 displays when the seconds for a time value that is right to the minute posts? Thank you for any/all consideration.
