It appears that only the employee receives an email notification when their timecard is approved at this time. It would greatly help the flow of timecard approvals if once the first approval step is generated (employee approval), it would send an auto email notification to the next approver letting them know to log in and complete the timecard approval process.
For example, when an employee approves their timecard, that action would generate a system email to send out to the supervisor/manager OR whoever comes next in the approval process.
The default email could be something like the below:
{Employee Name}'s timecard for the pay period starting {Pay Period Begin Date} and ending {Pay Period End Date} has been approved.
Please {LOGIN} to review and approve the timecard.
