Currently, you have two options for creating and assigning schedule templates to employees.
- Working under Company Rules >> Schedule Templates to create a template
- After the template is created, you must go to Employee >> Employee select individual employee go to Rules >> Employee Schedule Templates and then assign the template
- You must then repeat the employee portion for each employee who works this template
- Super time consuming
- Working on the Scheduler itself, you can enable the Add Template Week Icon (Schedule Options >> Options II), assign a week of shifts to an employee, and then click the Add Week to Template Icon.
- You then need to enter a number for Week Offset (generally 1 if it is weekly recurring schedule)
- You must then go through this process for each additional employee working the same recurring schedule
I am fairly certain that option 2 is a recent enhancement, and it is a HUGE improvement from option one. Still, many clients have employees that work the same schedule for a few weeks and then change to meet business need. Having the option to either:
- assign a template created under Company Rules to multipe employees (ie being able to select the ones you want)
- Or be able to click a button on the Scheduler that creates templates base on the current schdule for all employees in that WG or Filter
Would be a big improvement. I can see how functionally number 2 might get hairy, so maybe add an Employee Options menu, similar to the Workgroup options menu that appears when you are on Employee >> Workgroup and have a WG selected.
